“I am Preston Matdorff, I’m 17 years old living in Lake Havasu City, AZ. I race stand up jet skis professionally on my built Kawasaki 1500 SX-R open ski prepared by Christophe Girello owner of GoFastUS. The 2018 year started out amazing. Season opener was JetJam which was located in Lake Havasu City. I raced Pro Ski GP1 open. I got second on Saturday and Sunday I got the overall. This had boosted my confidence tons for the remaining season knowing what I am capable of. I have been feeling strong and healthy. I took first overall in both days in rounds 3 and 4 of JetJam. For the next month I had prepared for the UIM Aquabike World Championship. I was the only stand-up rider form USA which was very exciting. I trained very hard. In the first round in Gallipoli, Italy I got 7th overall in Ski GP1 Open. In the second round in Olbia, Italy I raced Ski GP2 which is what my sky was built for. I managed to finish 3rd overall and it was the best feeling I got when I was coming across the finish line. No words can explain the excitement I had. Being at the UIM Aquabike Championship taught me many new techniques in racing and riding. I met many awesome people and the environment was an experience in itself. A week after arriving back in the USA I had a huge JetJam special event going on which had a $10.000,00 prize money on the start line. I finished 2nd in Moto 1 when my ski dropped to half its speed. I switched to my back up ski which was a stock 1500 SX-R for the second moto and I finished 6th. In the 3rd moto I got a 5th place therefore I finally managed to finish 3rd overall for the weekend and able to bring home some money. 2018 season has been the best so far thanks to Christophe Girello of GoFastUS and my parents. Also, I would like to thank all my sponsors: GoFastUS, R&D Performance, Mom&Dad, Jettrim, Flowvision, BP Concepts and 10 Racing.”
