If you ever wondered what the inside of your pipe looked like, well, this is it. The water jackets and exhaust passage cores assembled before setting in the molds to pour. The will be baked out during the heat treat process and vibrated to remove all the loose sand. The cores are held together with a binding agent which makes them hard. The sand can be reground and reused over and over again. Photo courtesy: PJS USA
