Recently Chris MacClugage, owner of MaccRacing informed us that he had carried out some testing in Lake Havasu in order to evaluate some new parts for the Kawasaki Ultra 250X. Along with Bill Chapin from R&D they tried to enhance the top speed of this craft. MaccRacing has already released a new carbon fiber hull which reduces the total weight of the heavy craft. MacClugage has announced that the lightweight hull is available in carbon fiber ($10.000) and in fiberglass ($6.500) and comes along with the OEM deck. Also, there is project which will feature an Ultra hull with a 15Fengine equipped with a Turbocharger. Whoever needs more horsepower just has to get in contact with MaccRacing (contact@maccracing.com).

>Skis 2007: for race use only
According to the importers Kawasaki and Yamaha of personal water crafts in Greece, the customers will not be able to get legal documentation for the 2007 Skis (800 SX-R and SuperJet) since they no longer comply with the EC rules. The headquarters of these importers were informed that these Skis can only be used by racers and not for weekend enthusiasts. Even if this is legal in some States in the U.S. or some other European countries, in Greece no one is allowed to ride a personal water craft without having the appropriate documentation and insurance. Therefore, it is not clear yet whether there will be a specific formula for the pwc racers that what to buy any of these Skis.

>X-2 Homologation
The IJSBA has reviewed requests to grant complete international homologation to all existing Sport Class PWC that the IJSBA has homologated in at least some part of the world. Specifically, this request involves international homologation of the Yamaha Waveblaster 800 and the contemporary Kawasaki X2. Given that the IJSBA has renewed Modified Class racing for the Sport Class, there is less worry about a limited import of PWC having a disproportionate advantage in Sport Class racing. The IJSBA believes that this international homologation would have the only impact of increasing interest in Sport Class racing. Therefore, the IJSBA has voted to allow for this homologation.

>Ultra 250X motor on a 15F hull
Many pwc enthusiasts were wondering whether it is possible to fit an Ultra 250X engine on a 15F hull. The answer came straight from the R&D Department, of KMC, the people that designed the new Ultra engine. Therefore, the new engine is much bigger than the previous one and it has a different exhaust layout, so it is actually impossible to fit it in the narrow engine compartment of the 15F hull. Though, even if it was possible to fit the Ultra engine, the 15F hull utilizes a smaller pump, so it would have been a waste of horsepower. It will be easier to buy a new craft and get the advantages of the complete package rather than spending a lot of money to modify the original 15F hull.
