>HSR-Benelli three cylinder motor

The pictured engine is no other then the new three cylinder HSR-Benelli motori. The company uses this engine to the 3 new Skis as well as the 2, out of four, new Runabouts. It is a 4T engine, with max displacement of 1.098cc and bore/stroke of 82x60,2mm and a compression ratio of 12.5:1. It power ranges from 100hp, to 142 and up to 162-172hp. It is fed by an EFI system and the head cover is made by carbon fiber. Note the racing type air filter.

>The new Runabout of HSR-Benelli

Along with the new Ski’s HSR-Benelli launched the new Runabout series. It consists of four models, two of those (R Naked and R Pro) use the three cylinder engine that was found in the Ski model, that produces 142hp and 172hp respectively. On the other hand the other two models (R Prestige and R Race) are equipped with a different four stroke engine with a V6 configuration and the horsepower reaches 278hp and 342hp respectively while the weight of its craft tops the 328kg. The Austrian company has not released yet the prices of these Runabout models.

>New Ski’s from HSR-Benelli

The Austrian based company has recently released at the Paris Boat show the new line up for 2008. A new hull was designed a bit longer (2.390mm) than the S4 much narrower (700mm) and it accommodates a new three cylinder four stroke engine from Benelli. The are three versions of this engine, the S Naked uses the 100hp one, the S Pro features the 142HP version and the S Race is equipped with the 168hp package. The new Ski’s utilize a new handle pole, a different hood from the S4, and higher guwhale. At the moment the company has not released the price of the new models.

>The results of stinginess

Replacing the OEM steering system on a Runabout not only alters the riders’ ergonomics but also provides a stronger steering pole that can withstand the higher forces that are applied during race conditions. Some companies offer cheaper solutions that usually provide part of the steering system. Such a system weakens the whole steering pole and when higher forces are applied it breaks like… a cucumber. To avoid any hazards it is advised to install from the beginning a proper heavy duty steering system in order to avoid any nasty surprises.

>ΕΜΕ1000: For Pro’s

The pictured engine belongs to EME1000 race craft that was originally designed for Freestyle use. Crankcases and crank comes from Octane whilst the cylinder block and the head are made by EME. This is the 1000cc version and produces 210hp. It features a dual cooling system and has a specially built race pipe manufactured from titanium by Factory Pipe. The engine is fed by dual Novi new generation carbs and a set of pneumatic power valves are installed at the exhaust side. Note the tricky gas tank that keeps the minimum gas needed for practice or race. The ignition comes from MSD and originally designed for the particular engine.
