>2009 Midwest PWC races Finale

Pwc races return to walled Lake Mishigan for the series Finale. WHAT: Racing of Sea-Doo, WaveRunner, Jetski and other personal watercraft, as Round 7 and 8 of the Monster Energy Midwest Watercross Tour, presented by BRP Sea-Doo, heads to Walled Lake, Michigan, for the series finale of the Tour on August 15-16, 2009. WHERE: The personal watercraft racing event will take in front of the Bayside Sports Bar and Grille adjacent to the Walled Lake Mercer beach. WHEN: Saturday, August 15 and Sunday August 16 -- Practice from 10:00-11:00am, races from 11:00am to 5:00pm. CHESTERFIELD TWP., MI. - Start you engines and get ready to catch the excitement of personal watercraft racing action as the 2009 Monster Energy Midwest Watercross Tour, presented by BRP Sea-Doo, heads to Walled Lake, Michigan, for the 3rd Walled Lake Watercross Shootout personal watercraft race. For the second year in a row, Walled Lake will host the final round of the Monster Energy Tour. The top watercraft racers from the Midwest and Canada are expected to descend on Walled Lake for the APBA sanctioned competition. The event takes place on Walled Lake in front of the Bayside Sports Bar and Grille and the Walled Lake Mercer beach. Personal watercraft racing is a tough, competitive and increasingly popular sport. Often described as “moto-cross racing on the water”, these exciting events pit up to 18 racers against each other on a racetrack of tight turns and straight-aways. In some classes, racers must also negotiate obstacles and log jumps on the racecourse. A rubberband starting system is used to control the start of each race. The racers will be competing for cash, prizes and contingency awards that will be awarded during the season, points towards the overall Monster Energy Midwest Watercross Tour championships and awards. Overall Tour Championships and awards will be awarded at the awards ceremony at the Bayside on Sunday. The Monster Energy Midwest Watercross Tour also made stops in Walled Lake (for the first event of the season) Oscoda, Michigan; Harbor Beach, Michigan; and makes a final stop back in Walled Lake, Michigan for the series finale.

This will be a huge advantage to attract even more spectators. Approximately 80 freestyle riders, from the newest rookies to the best Australia has to offer, will be hitting the surf for an action packed day of competitions, clinics and a chance for all who would normally shy away from competing to gauge their skills against the who’s who of freestyle riding. Format: The riders will take part in scheduled events throughout the day such as:- 1. Clinic- Professional riders teaching the skills to perform new maneuvers.2. Open freeride- sessions for people who want to try the skills they have been taught without entering a competition format.3. Cherry popper- for riders to attempt their first Arial backflip.4. Event HistoryThe “Rip and Ride” was brought to life by OZFREERIDE.COM and the Cronulla Freeride Crew in 2008, with the idea of promoting our sport to Rookies entailing a fun filled day with prizes, without the added pressure of a freeride competition. This was proven last year for the inaugural Rip and Ride when, from an expected 25 entrants, we signed up 42. To date, 2009 has attracted over 45 international and local riders and we anticipate these numbers may double. Paolo Bertozzi won 1st place at this race. Father, Angelo Bertozzi won 2nd in Runabout stock class and 3rd in Super Stock class.

According to Steve Webster owner of Kommander Ind. his team structure this season for the World Finals will be as follows: My plan for the Finals is this so far: Dustin Pro Ski and GP Ski, Tyron Motz Pro Ski and Gp Ski, Josh Lustic Pro Freestyle (New Ski this year. Trinity Hull Yamaha Engine), Lisa Barsby Pro Womans Ski, Jim Goodchild, Kris Ingram Expert Ski Limited and Open, Katie Hackler Pro Am Womans ski, Mike Hackler Expert Limited and Open, David Redinger Pro Ski and Pro GP. Steve mentioned that he sponsors other riders too but he is not sure yet of everyone’s classes.

Pacific City Oregon to Host second round of 2009 IFWA Freeride World Tour and IJSBA Motosurf Western Championship September 11-13th 2009. The world’s greatest Watercraft Freeriders and racers will descend on Pacific City Oregon for the year’s top PWC surf event. The Blowsion Surf Slam combines the second round of the IFWA Freeride World Championship Tour with the IJSBA Freeride World Cup and MotoSurf Western Championship. The event will be held at Tierra Del Mar Beach located just north of Pacific City and is free to the public on this wide expanse of beach. This event marks a return to IFWA and IJSBA co-sanctioning events in order to bring the very best PWC athletes together at one venue.The Blowsion Surf Slam will bring over 30 freeriders from around the world competing for a cash purse and points towards the IFWA World title and competing for the first IJSBA Freeride World Cup. The infamous Pacific Coast surf will boost riders over 20 feet in the air while performing tricks like backflips, barrel rolls and no handed landings. Joining them will be some of the best PWC racers in the world who will display high speed turns through a grueling buoy course all while challenging the unpredictable waves. Current IFWA points leader and last year’s World-Title holder is American Ross Champion. When asked about his thoughts on the 2009 US location he said, “We are really looking forward to the Blowsion Surf Slam this year. We riders have been coming to Pacific City for the last 10 years for a private event. We are happy to be expanding the event this year and looking forward to the general public being exposed to the sport of Freeride.” Spectators will also witness exciting personal watercraft racing with the IJSBA MotoSurf Western Championship. The top 20 racers in the country will battle it out in the challenging Pacific City surf. Multi-time IJSBA World Champion, Chris Macclugage is looking forward to the event. “ I am excited about the return of MotoSurf to the West Coast. The only racing I really enjoy is in the surf,” said MacCluggaage.Freeriders will compete in a head to head double elimination format. A panel of profession judges will score them using 50% for their wave surfing and 50% for their aerial maneuvers. Racers will compete, in a multi-lap format; through a challenging buoy course that requires split second navigation while maintain speeds exceeding 70 MPH.The Blowsion Surf Slam is part of the 5th year of IFWA Freeride World Championship Tour. Each stop on the tour features a beautiful tourist location along with the potential for large surf and impressive competition. The IFWA is the International Freeride Watercraft Association and the sanctioning body for the sport of Freeride. The IJSBA (International Jet Sports Boating Association) is the world’s sanctioning body for organized PWC competitions. >Farthing’s Race report

Hello Everyone, here is my race report for the weekend of July 18th & 19th of the IJSBA National Tour Toyota Water Jam Rochester, NY. Thank you to all my sponsors for another amazing weekend, This tour raced a 3 moto format and I was able to put my TBM Racing Kawasaki Ultra 260 into 1st place all 3 motos. This event was held in conjunction with many other events and had large amount of spectators and television. I was able to make the NBC TV news with a live interview for the weekends racing coverage. Thank you to Phil Farthing my Father & Mechanic for an awesome ski. Thank you to all my sponsors (Kawasaki, Monster Energy, TBM Racing, Jet Pilot, Smith, Hot Products, Vortech, Skat Trak, Mountain Motorsports, Red Line Oils, Deadly Sins, Hydro Turf, AP Designs and Thor Helmets) for giving me the best support to win.
