>WORX Freeride Australian Open 2010

Worx Racing Components are pleased to announce that the Freeride Australian Open will be on again next year on the Gold Coast, Australia. The event is expected to be held on the 20th and 21st of February 2010 and will be moved from the location it was in last year to a venue where big waves are expected. Yamaha Australia, Jetpilot Australia, Worx Racing Components and many other sponsors will again be getting together to produce an absolute sensational event like 2009. In 2009 Worx Racing Components, brought Pierre Maixent (France) and Ross Champion (USA) out to Australia to compete in the event. The local Australian riders really took it to the world’s best but Pierre managed to take home a brand new Yamaha Superjet as first prize and Ross came third and received a very favourable cash reward. Australia Nick Barton came second and he too was happy with his reward. In 2010 Worx will again be a sponsor of the event and is encouraging riders from all over the world to come and compete for some very substantial cash prizes. Anyone wishing to know what the event was like last year can ask Ross or Pierre their opinions or why not just come and see it for yourself in 2010. Worx again will bring Pierre and Ross across to defend their titles. >MacClugage overwhelms competition on APBA Watercross Tour

Chris MacClugage and his Macc Racing Yamaha FZR WaveRunner won the APBA Pro-Am Stock National Championship today at Percy Priest Lake, TN, completing one of the most dominate performances in professional watercraft racing history. MacClugage, a multi-time World and National PWC Racing champion, won nearly every round of the Pro-Am Stock class on the APBA Watercross Tour this season, racking up an overwhelming points lead going into the final weekend of the 2009 National Tour. However, MacClugage, not one to coast his Yamaha FZR to a national title, took the fight to his competitors today just as he had all season long. In true MacClugage fashion, he not only won Moto 1 in the Pro-Am Stock class today to put him over the top for the national title, MacClugage also won Moto 1 of the Pro-Am Open Class aboard a new Bill-Chapin prepared Yamaha FZR. “This season we set out to prove that the Yamaha FZR can completely dominate the APBA Prostock class and we did,” said MacClugage. ““With the FZR being in its first year of production, it is truly amazing to see it outperform all of the competitive boats that have so many more races under their belt.” “From conception, the FZR was designed to be the ultimate high performance race watercraft out of the box,” said Bryan Seti, Yamaha’s national marketing manager. “The results of the FZR on the National Tour demonstrate the game changing nature of this hull and engine platform for the closed course. Chris MacClugage’s dominance of every race this year and his national championship win reinforces the FZR’s leadership position on the racing scene.”

>Craig Warner will defend his #1

According to out recent update from 2 times Pro Runabout World Champion Craig Warner, Kawasaki Factory Jet Ski Racing Team will have him under its tent for another year although the Jet Ski racing budget has been reduced a lot (AMA SX and Road racing has taken it all). Warner will bring both of his last year’s race craft, the tricky STX-R and the Ultra. At the moment we do not know what powerplant will have under the seat since last year there were rumors that Kawsaki was interested to a turbo kit. Though, if the budget is so tight as we know from another source most probably the team will have both crafts equipped with the usual Vortech recipe.
