The capacity for two stroke R/A G.P. rises up from 1400cc to 1600cc.The capacity for four stroke R/A G.P. with turbo or compressor stays at 1600cc.Only one unit must be produced to receive the homologation. The hull, including upper and under hull are free but must stay in the sizes from the I.J.S.B.A R/A Division rules. Sponsons must be IJSBA race legal. You can use any kind of composite materials. You can use any kind of engines but it must be based on a homologated ski or R/A engine. If you want to make your own engine, this engine must be homologated by the EJSBA only for the G.P. classes. Full modifications are allowed (crankshaft, cylinders, pistons, crankcases and more). Four-cylinders maximum. Minimum weight is 216 kg for two stroke and 270 kg for four stroke Transmission and pump are free but must stay inboard. The decision from the Technical Director is final about homologation of any G.P.

At the beginning of February, the Hellenic Powerboat Association carried out its fist annual meeting in order to basically announce its plans for the upcoming racing season. Additionally, the new board carried out the ward Ceremony for the Winter Cup and the two athletes (A. Malouchos and V. Moraitis) that raced at the World Finals 2006. The winners of the Winter Cup were the pictured (Douroudakis, Kraniotis and Malamatinis).

>Botti on testing in USA
Pascal Barriac, Team owner of the JFC Team, was in Florida along with young Frenchman, Jean B. Botti in order to carry out some testing at Riva Racing. Botti was keen on testing some special parts for the new Ultra 250X since he will compete with this model once again at the European Endurance Championship. According to Pascal, Botti tested and evaluated some parts (intake grate, ride plate, sponsons, etc). Both returned back to France and the Team expects to receive some more parts in order to continue the testing, possibly in Corsica.

According to the Kawasaki importer, Teomoto A.E. the brand new Kawasaki Ultra 250X, will be distributed in Greece though the companys dealership at the end of March. Recently (9/2/07) the company has announced that the price of the 250horsepower Jet Ski, which costs 16.950euros, is a reasonable price according to the standards of its class. Additionally, Teomoto A.E. announced that they still have in stock some units of the Ultra 150 and the STX-1100 DI offered at a reasonable price.

>MaccRacing is under testing
Recently Chris MacClugage, owner of MaccRacing informed us that he had carried out some testing in Lake Havasu in order to evaluate some new parts for the Kawasaki Ultra 250X. Along with Bill Chapin from R&D they tried to enhance the top speed of this craft. MaccRacing has already released a new carbon fiber hull which reduces the total weight of the heavy craft. MacClugage has announced that the lightweight hull is available in carbon fiber ($10.000) and in fiberglass ($6.500) and comes along with the OEM deck. Also, there is project which will feature an Ultra hull with a 15Fengine equipped with a Turbocharger. Whoever needs more horsepower just has to get in contact with MaccRacing (contact@maccracing.com).

>Skis 2007: for race use only
According to the importers Kawasaki and Yamaha of personal water crafts in Greece, the customers will not be able to get legal documentation for the 2007 Skis (800 SX-R and SuperJet) since they no longer comply with the EC rules. The headquarters of these importers were informed that these Skis can only be used by racers and not for weekend enthusiasts. Even if this is legal in some States in the U.S. or some other European countries, in Greece no one is allowed to ride a personal water craft without having the appropriate documentation and insurance. Therefore, it is not clear yet whether there will be a specific formula for the pwc racers that what to buy any of these Skis.
