Undoubtedly, Franky Zapata was the man to beat in the GP Runabout class, since he made a strong impression with his specially made Sea Doo missile. On the other hand Dustin Farthing showed up on a borrowed race craft, rode smart, consistently and managed to clinch the world title in his class, putting a fine end to his retirement show. After serving the sport for 15 years Farthing announced his retirement at the awards making a statement about the reasons that forced him to make this particular decision.
